Our Market Manager:
I’ve been asked to provide a short biography. It is daunting, if not flat out frightening to summarize a life in a short paragraph, but here it goes. I was born sometime after the First World War and married sometime later (Yes, I’m a little touchy about the age thing; please don’t ask). I’ve worked in steel mills, as a mailman, and, for a short time, a very short time, on the knotted end of a rope some 550 feet above Boston Bay. I’ve walked on the Great Wall of China, slept in a tent on the edge of the Serengeti, and hiked, alone, before sunrise, through a rain forest in South America (I can bore you to tears with travel stories; ask at your own peril). I went to college, even got a degree, but don’t hold that against me. I read, a lot. Have a real affinity for the natural world, have spent a lot of time in it, a good bit of that alone, and am always amazed by its order and chaos. I still like to play in the dirt, digging holes and such. I can sing but not dance. I’ve been called a jack of all trades. I’ve been called a lot of other things, but never mind that. I’m really looking forward to this new job, I expect there will be ripple effects. And, finally, in the words of Walt Whitman, ” I must follow up these continual lessons of air, water, earth, I perceive I have no time to lose.”
